Sometimes being progressive can be
conterproductive to the goals that the progressives want to achieve.
Take, for instance, all of the hub-bub
over gun control.
Sure there have been multiple
shootings, at schools and collegegs, no less, but that does not mean
that the majority of the American public will automatically turn
against guns and the second amendment.
There is a definite gun culture which
permeates places like Louisiana and Texas. This culture will not
allow the liberals to even get close to outlawing the ownership of
guns for the general, law-abiding public.
Policies like gun free zones are
definitely countrproductive. If one looks at where a great majority
of the school shootings take place, it is in gun free zones where
people are not even allowed to have a gun in their car.
This is just another example of a
progressive failure.
