Solitary Confinement: Good Or Bad

In the area of justice for crimes committed, there are many sides of the three different ways of doleing out the punishment. There is life in prison with parole, life in prison without parole, and the death penalty.

If a prisoner disobeys the rules set by the warden, is party to or commits a crime while there, he or she will be put in solitary confinement.

The arguments against solitary confinement are its cost and that it does not teach the prisoner (male or female) how to survive and get along with people wile living on the outside of prison walls.

I take another tact.

What I would do is to try and build the prisons in the most unforgiven of places which, if the prisoners try to escape, they have no place to go.

This the type of solitary confinement which I favor.
