The most well intention-ed of the
progressive programs, agendas, and policies have and will continue to
come back and bite the silent (or not so silent) majority in the
behinds.
A good example of this is what has
recently happened in a small town in Washington State.
One of the the progressives big agenda
items is and always has been to raise the minimum wage. There are
inherent problems with this what I have addressed in several other
posts on this blog. We are going to stick to what the process has
wrought, particularly in the small town of SeaTac, Washington.
The process involved in getting such
ballot initiatives is to put it on the ballot, set a date to vote,
and hope that most people do not show up to vote. The big hope is
that they can get a low voter turn out so that a majority of a
minority can get the initiatives passed.
The havoc wreaking in SeaTac Washington
is due do the fact that the law does not apply to every one. There
are many union workers who had collectively bargained for and
received a contract from the particular city that the law does not
affect.
Too bad, so sad, bye bye.
